Thank you so much for joining us for an episode of Entangled Things!
Here's a note from our sound engineer, Ahren, regarding recording setup and recommendations.
If you have any questions, or would like to run through anything with Ahren, please don't hesitate to reach out and he can be available to meet and test your setup prior to recording.
We use Riverside.fm, a web-based recording platform to record episodes. You will receive a link to the recording session in your meeting invite. Here are some pointers that will help you get prepared ahead of time and make the recording process as smooth as possible.
Up-to-date version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
At least 5Mbps, preferably 10Mbps+
Close other browser tabs
During the recording, close other browser tabs and applications to avoid hardware conflicts
Headphones - Headphones are highly recommended when recording to ensure that each voice is isolated in the final recording
Microphone - A separate microphone is preferred but earbud/mic combos work as well. In order to prevent audio leakage to the mic, please keep your earphone volume turned down to a low but comfortable setting
Simply open the link provided to you in the meeting invite on a laptop or desktop computer that meets the above requirements
Open Riverside.fm in a regular window or tab, not in incognito mode or private mode
Granting microphone access
You will be prompted to allow access to your microphone. Click to allow microphone access and then your host will be able to start recording.
