Dr. Yuping Huang serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of QCi. He founded and directed the Center for Quantum Science and Engineering and is the Viola W. and Elbert C. Brinning Endowed Professor (on leave) at Stevens Institute of Technology.
A recognized leader in quantum science and technology,Yuping brings more than two decades of pioneering research and development experience spanning quantum communications, photonics, sensing, and computing. He earned his Ph.D. in quantum AMO physics in 2009 and previously served as a research faculty member and principal investigator at Northwestern University before joining Stevens in 2014.
Over the course of his academic and entrepreneurial career, Yuping has built and led an extensive portfolio of quantum research initiatives supported by approximately $40 million in funding from DARPA, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, NASA, and private industry partners.
Prior to joining QCi, Yuping founded QPhoton, Inc., a quantum technology company focused on commercializing quantum devices and technology to address critical challenges across cybersecurity, big data, remote sensing, and healthcare. His work has consistently focused on bridging cutting-edge quantum research with scalable, real-world applications and commercialization opportunities.
