Gustavo Cancelo has made contributions to signal processing, nonlinear control, data acquisition, detectors, and neural networks for almost four decades at Fermilab. His work has been used to control and read out accelerator cavity beam dynamics and detectors for high-energy physics and cosmology.
His recent interests are in the realm of quantum information science (computers, sensors, networks). He is currently leading the widespread open-source readout and control system QICK (Quantum Instrumentation Control Kit) developed at Fermilab.
